The whisky route otherwise machame trail happens to be the most adventurous while its less crowded with many hikers prefering the easy cocacola route. It takes you through the shira plateau where the visibility of the breach wall becomes wild with its massive Kibo Dome pulling closer to your eyes every step of the hike! Stretching Ridges and Valleys are a phenomenon .In a clear sky,its just a breath taking climb up the Barranco Wall and down the wild  Karanga Valley.
    6 DAYS KILIMANJARO CLIMB UP MACHAME AND DOWN MWEKA ROUTES

DAY 1:- Transfer from your hotel to the Machame gate(1490m).From where you trek through the lush forest to Machame Hut (10,000ft/3000m) Stay /Camp/overnight

DAY 2: Leaving the forest, the path follows a steep ridge passing through Giant heathers and open moorlands and crossing a ridge to reach shira hut (12,500ft/3,840m)Stay/Camp overnight.

 DAY 3: You return eastwards and continue ascending through the dry landscape before dropping into Barranco Valley to reach Barranco Camp13,000ft(3950m) stay /Camp overnight.

 DAY 4: The path climbs steeply out of the Barranco Valley crosses the karanga Valley, then turn north to reach Barafu hut (15,500ft/4,600m). stay/camp overnight.

 DAY 5: Its a long day and an early start to reach the Crater rim at Stella Point(5685m) for sunrise. Continue the ascent 1hour to Uhuru peak ,highest point in Africa. Afterwards descend to Barafu and downward to Mweka hut (3100m)Stay overnight.

DAY 6: Descend to the Mweka park gate (1980m)from where you are transfered back to your hotel in Arusha.
