5 DAYS MOUNT ABERDARES CLIMB

Day 1: Nairobi - Aberdares Fishing Lodge Campsite
Leave Nairobi in the morning by public transport to Nyeri town where you meet a jeep and drive to Kiadongoro gate and walk to Fishing Lodge for overnight in the campsite. Afternoon accompanied by an armed ranger, visit the Karuru and Magura water falls. (4 hrs walking round trip to the water falls.)

Day 2: Aberdares Fishing Lodge Campsite - Honi River Campsite
After breakfast, trek through the moorland viewing high altitude vegetations where also some animals like Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes, Antelopes and bird species can be encountered to Honi River Campsite for dinner and overnight. (6-7hrs).

Day 3: Honi River Campsite - Wanderis Road head Campsite
After breakfast, hike through the Hagenia forest to Wanderis road head campsite for dinner and overnight. (5-6hrs).

Day 4: Wanderis Road head Campsite - Summit - Wanderis Road head Campsite
Hike to the top of Satima Peak, which is the highest point in the Aberdares overlooking the Great Rift Valley to the West and Kikuyu Valley as far as the summit of Mt. Kenya to the East, and later descend to the Campsite for an overnight. (5hrs)

Day 5: Wanderis Road head Campsite - Nairobi
After breakfast walk down to meet the vehicle off the mountain via Wanderis gate and then proceed back to Nairobi.
